Virginia F. Ireland, 82 of Bainbridge died Sun. Mar. 3, 2024 at her home.  She was born on Oct. 16, 1941 to the late, Robert Frewert & Madeline Pierce.  She was raised by her grandparents, Gustav & Freda Frewert.  She was predeceased by her 2 husbands, James Ireland and Douglas Ireland.

She is survived by 6 children, Valerie McCain, Ronald Ireland, Nadine Fineout, Karen (Andrew) Kantor, Cheryl (Stratton) Liberty, Dorene Ireland, 7 grandchildren, great grandchildren, 2 brothers, David Mapstone, Edward Mapstone and also several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was the coordinator of Operation Merry Christmas for many many years.  She was former volunteer with many local organizations.

The family will receive friends at the Westcott-Madden Funeral Home 123 Main Street Unadilla on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m.   Private burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla.  Memorial contributions may be made to:  Operation Merry Christmas c/o Community Bank 19 Union Street Sidney, NY 13838.  Online condolences may be made at:   www.wmaddenfh.com.
