Sharlene Gassler Ingalls
Of Bainbridge
Sharlene Gassler Ingalls, 77 of Bainbridge died peacefully at home on Wed. July 30, 2025 after a very short struggle with colon cancer. She was born on March 19, 1948 in Deposit, NY to Velma and Harry Gassler, and was the only child.
She was raised in Bainbridge and graduated from Bainbridge High School Class of 1967. Sharlene went on to attend Bob Jones University and received her Bachelor’s degree in 1970. She continued her music studies in Philadelphia, PA.
Music was her passion from an early age. After college, she volunteered as organist at the First Baptist Church in Sidney, where she was a member for many years. Sharlene also worked as a Teacher Aide at Sidney Central Schools as well as a lifelong piano/organ teacher.
In January of 2007, she married Jams H. Ingalls on Unadilla. They enjoyed 15 years of marriage until his death in January of 2022.
In 2020, Sharlene started attending Mercy Fellowship Church in Afton. She quickly found a very loving church family as she became a member soon after attending there.
Sharlene continued her pursuit of music as she volunteered her piano playing. Her infectious smile and love of music, lit up the room she was performing in.
Sharlene is survived by her family, very close friends, the church family and beloved beagle, Dillon.
A Celebration of Her Life begins with a meal at 1 p.m. on Sunday September 7, 2025. Come join us at Mercy Fellowship Church 967 NT Rte. 41 in Afton as we remember Sharlene.
