Unadilla: Rosalie M. Barnhart of Unadilla died on Wed. Oct. 29, 2014 at A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta. She was born on March 26, 1921 in Walton and was the daughter of: Fred & Mary Maritato. She married Paul E. Barnhart Sr. on Nov. 10, 1946 in Walton, who predeceased her on Nov. 5, 1999. She was predeceased by her sons, Timothy and Michael and a brother Joseph Maritato and her grandsons, Michael & Adam. She was the Head Cashier at the Victory Market in Unadilla for 22 years. She was very actively involved in her family which included attending her children’s, grandchildren’s and great grandchildren’s activities. She devoted her entire life to her family. Having raised 9 children, she also became well known as a second mother to many other children in town. She was well known for her especially loving and unforgettable hugs. She is survived by 2 sons & daughters-in-law, Paul Jr. & JoAnn Barnhart-Maryland, NY, Peter & Susan Barnhart, Unadilla, 6 daughters & sons-in-law, Pamela & Mark Derr, Camden, SC, Martha & Larry Wesner, Sidney, Nancy & Loren Youngs, Bainbridge, Victoria & Joseph Schlafer, Unadilla, Kathy & David Heath, Sidney, Amy Barnhart, Unadilla, her grandchildren, Todd, Miranda, Orrin, Paul, Jacob, Clara, Quinn, Matthew, Jason, Matthias, Sarah, Jennifer, Joshua, Jessica, Lance, Joshua, Julie, Amber, & Alicia, several very special great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, brother, Eugene Maritato, Walton, sister Leona Maritato, Walton and also niece, Cynthia Maritato of Michigan. Funeral Services will be held at the Westcott-Madden Funeral Home 123 Main Street Unadilla on Sat. at 11 a.m. Rev. Bernie Knutsen, of Sidney Assembly of God Church will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla. The family will receive friends at the Westcott-Madden Funeral Home on Fri. evening from 5 to 8 p.m. and Sat. from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to service.
