Michael J. Banks

Michael “Mike” Banks, a life-long resident of Franklin, NY passed away suddenly on Sat. August 5th, 2023 at the age of 61.

Mike was born December 13, 1961, in Walton, NY, to Fred and Kathryn Banks. He grew up working on his Aunt’s farm, where he learned a great deal of dedication for his work. Later on Mike became a long time employee of Steri-cycle and eventually retired.  He loved to spend his free time riding motorcycles, tending his garden and flowers, and spending time with his family. Mike also surrounded himself with many rescue animals and would find himself visiting Wolf Mountain in Smyrna, NY.

Mike is survived by his girlfriend Sandi Borne, his parents Fred & Kathryn Banks; children Samantha Banks, Laura Banks, Katelyn Wachob; grandchildren Draven Fay, Trenton Fay, Scarlett Barnes, Julian Salas, Theodore Wachob; sister Joanna Banks; niece Sierra Jones, and nephew Joshua Jones.

A Celebration of His Life will be held at the Franklin Fire Department on Sat. August 19th, 2023 at 1pm.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Love and Hope Animal Sanctuary Inc. 95 Stewart Rd. Franklin, NY 13775.
