Melissa Leigh MacDonald, 57, of Afton, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, September 19, 2024.

Melissa was born in Sidney, NY to David Haney and Bonnie Lafond on November 4, 1966.

She is survived by her two sons, Michael MacDonald and Kyle MacDonald; mother, Bonnie Lafond; sisters; Trisha (Eric) Evans and Marcy Crawford; brother, Chris (Kelly) Haney; her partner of 30 years, Quentin Lewis and many special nieces, nephews, and other family.  

Melissa was predeceased by her father, David Haney and her brother, Kevin Haney.

She worked at Sidney High School and the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford, NY for many years.

She loved to play the slot machines, spend her time with her sons, and to travel to the beach. She was one-of-a-kind and will be dearly missed by all who met her.

A celebration of life will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Binghamton Food Rescue, NOMA Community Center in Binghamton, or PROJECT LETS.
