Unadilla/Sidney Center, NY: On 12/27/2024, Margaret (Eberhardt) Wormuth departed this earth peacefully in her home. She was born on August 25, 1932 on Long Island, NY. She was one of 3 daughters born to John and Bertha Eberhardt. She had fond memories growing up in Bayside, NY with her sisters. Sadly, her father passed when she was 14, and her mother remarried to Frank Graul, belovedly known as “Pop-Pop”. When she was a young woman she relocated with her parents to Upstate New York where she met her (ex) husband, Austin, and raised her beloved family. Margaret was a loving soul who treated everyone as family. She was known as “Grams” those by blood and by choice. She raised her children and grandson, and was devoted to her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchild. Her daughter, Laura, lived with her since 2018 in her home in Sidney Center, NY
Margaret lived a long and full life, predeceased by her step-father, Frank Graul “Pop-Pop” who is remembered by his grandchildren with love and laughter, Her mother, Bertha (Weiss) Eberhardt, who also lived a long life surrounded by family, her sisters Betty and Mimi, a “special friend” John “Skip” Baumann, Ex-husband, Austin; son-Austin Jr, affectionately know as Butch, daughter Rebecca Morey and granddaughter Michelle Morey.
Margaret will be remembered always by her friends and family. She is survived by her daughters: Debora (Roger) Harkness, Laura (Floyd-deceased) Balling, her grandchildren:Cheree Balling, William Wormuth, great-grandchildren, Xander, Mikael, Kylee and great-great granschild; Allison (Mark) Clark and many great-grandchildren; Jenna (Jeremy) and grandchildren, Willy and Peyton; Tanya (Kenn) Harkness-Huggins and great-grandchildren, Collin and Kiernan Harkness; Melissa, who resides in Tennessee. Also survived by Skip’s beloved daughter Penny Crenshaw and her family.
Margaret managed her family farm, raising her children, and then the business of Wormuth Mobile Home Service and Supply as well as FN Burt Box Factory. She owned and operated Distlefink Adult Home in Unadilla and did home health care until her retirement. After retirement she moved to “the hill” in Sidney Center, to her forever home.
