Lois Jean Killmeier (Mitchell), 74, of Unadilla was called Home to be with the Lord far too early on Feb 3rd, 2021.  She has rejoined her parents, Ochse Gassler, Mina VanSteemburg and step-father Russell VanSteemburg in Heaven.  While we rejoice knowing she is now without pain, worry or sadness, her loss is forever mourned by her husband, Robert Killmeier of Unadilla, her children, Tom Mitchell (Tracey Yavorski) of Bainbridge, James Mitchell of Mt. Upton, Jeff (Alison) Mitchell of Harpursville and Andrew Mitchell (Karissa Kibbler) of Bainbridge.  She is also missed by their father, Bruce Mitchell of Bainbridge, her grandchildren, Cassandra, Daniel, Angela, Stephanie, Thomas, Lucas, Ethan, Alex and Zachary, several great-grandchildren, step-children, family, friends and her beloved dog Raisin.

Mom was first and foremost a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, always there for those in need.  Her family and pets were the most important things in her life, but over the years she also owned Homeward Bound Christian Book store in Bainbridge, served as the Secretary /Treasurer and Superintendent for the Bainbridge Greenlawn Cemetery, earned many employee honors while working for JCPenney and most recently served as the Deputy Town Clerk and Court Clerk in Unadilla.

Her greatest passion in life was sharing her love with others, and always had an abundance of love to give whether it was championing for children by volunteering for Birthright in Sidney, serving her church or caring for the elderly as a home health aide.  

Out of respect for the health and well-being of those close to her during the pandemic, the family has chosen to wait until spring when we can all celebrate her life and lay her to rest in a safe and loving service.
