Karl Baker Anderson, 94, of Sidney, NY, passed away, April 23, 2016, in the A.O. Fox Nursing Home, Oneonta, NY where he made his home for the past several years.  Karl was born on August 8, 1921 to Maybelle and Basil Anderson in Oneonta, NY. On March 5, 1944 he was married to Shirley Hubbell in Oneonta. They had four children.  After graduating from the Oneonta High School he did an apprenticeship in the Tool and Die Maker Program through Scintilla Magneto Corporation. He was hired in July 1941 and worked at the plant for more than 40 years.  He was a longtime resident of Sidney and member of the First Baptist Church, Sidney. In his earlier years he was a member of the Home Guard, Company I and the Sidney Volunteer Fire Department. During his last few years he enjoyed playing his harmonica and clarinet with the Foxy Fellows at the nursing home.  He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Harold (Dick) and Joyce Anderson; two daughters and sons-in-law, Sylvia and Harvey Graham, Karen and Richard Prue; two sons and daughters-in-law, Steven and Elaine Anderson, and William and Marilyn Anderson; six grandsons, two granddaughters, five great-grandsons and 11 great-granddaughters.  He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Norman, Derwin, Wesley; one sister, Arlene Schmitt; his wife, Shirley; and many friends and relatives.

A celebration of life will be held at the Main Street Baptist Church, Oneonta, at 1 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2016, with the Reverend Grant Smith, Pastor, officiating.
