Janeen C. (Clark) Oles

Janeen C. Oles, 77, formerly of Sidney, NY and Bangor, Maine entered into eternal rest on January 15, 2024 in Buffalo NY after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.  Janeen was the youngest of 5 children. She was born on January 14, 1947, to Margarette “Alice” Clark (Perkins) and Herbert W. Clark in Bangor Maine.  Janeen graduated from Bangor High School in 1965. After high school she met and married the love of her life, Thomas H. Oles. After a short stint in Texas and then Unadilla NY they settled and made their home in Sidney NY. Janeen was employed for several years at Mang Insurance in Sidney and then at The Hospital, Sidney. After Tom’s passing, Janeen returned to Bangor Maine and was employed by EMMC Norumbega Pediatrics until her retirement.  Shortly after retirement Janeen moved back to New York to be closer to her son, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Known as “Nana” to all, Janeen loved to spend time with her family. She loved to show off the pictures of her family to anyone that would look at them with her. They were certainly her pride and joy.  Janeen is survived by her son, Scott T. Oles and his wife Kristy. Grandson’s Taylor Oles (Tayler), Austin Oles (Brittney), and Jacob Oles. Granddaughters, Amber DeRose (Brandon), and Keena Glover (Devon). Great grandchildren, Catelyn, Jameson and Jahlil. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and dear friends Tracy (Eric) Mack, Marie (Barry) Cole, Jane Levie, Renee Lindsey and Judy Tassiopulos. Janeen was predeceased by her Husband Thomas H. Oles in 1997. Sisters, M. Mary Ryan, Jean Roberts, and Brothers, Herbert “Bill” Clark and Raymond “Buster” Clark. The family would also like to thank Cindy Taft and the staff of Northgate health care facility for helping Mom “Nana” in her time of illness.  

Friends are invited to call Friday January 19th from 4pm to 6pm at the Westcott-Madden Funeral Home, 123 Main Street, Unadilla NY 13849.  Funeral Services will be held on Sat.  January 20, 2024 at 10:30am at the Westcott-Madden Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla, at the family’s convenience. Online condolences may be made at:   www.wmaddenfh.com.
