Irene V.  Palmer Johnson, 98 of Unadilla passed away on Sat. Oct. 7, 2023 at Norwich Rehab & Nursing Center.  She was born on Jan. 11, 1925 in Rockdale to Charles Berton & Clara (Keach)                      Matteson.   She was predeceased by her 2 husbands, Addison Palmer & Robert Johnson.

She was a member on Unadilla Center United Methodist Church, its Polly’s Circle, Unadilla Grange, Eastern Star and was a retired secretary from SUCO and a former employee of Keith Clark and was a dairy farmer.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Mae (Norman) Schmidt, Sherburne. son, Lynn (Lorrie) Palmer, Fairhope, AL, 3 grandchildren, Jeffery Palmer, Michael (Rebecca) Palmer, Mark (Andrea) Schmidt & daughter, Maranda, 4 great grandchildren, Grant, Samantha, Cadin & Macy, 5 great great grandchildren. 

Funeral Services will be held at the Unadilla Center United Methodist Church on Thurs. at 11 a.m.  Rev. George Gallandorm will officiate.  Burial will be in Unadilla Center Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the Unadilla Center United Methodist Church on Thurs. from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to service.  Memorial Contributions in her memory may be made to: Unadilla Center United Methodist Church 1203 Butternut Road Unadilla, NY 13849.  Online condolences may be made at:    www.wmadenfh.com.  Arrangements by the Westcott-Madden Funeral Home 123 Main Street Unadilla.   A MADDEN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME.
