Howard Roper Jr. Obituary

Howard “Dean” Roper Jr was born in Trabuco, CA. December 3rd, 1960.

Howard is predeceased by his father, Howard Dean Roper Sr. and his mother, Nancy Jane Roper.

Howard moved to New York with his parents when he was young. At the age of sixteen, he moved to Texas, where he began honing his skills as a subcontractor.  Howard was very proficient in all specialties a subcontractor needs to flourish in the field.  Howard moved back to New York, where he met his first wife, Verna Roper, and daughter Kristina.  Heather and Trevor were born in New York to Howard and Verna.  Howard and Verna moved to Delaware, following a contractor (Tommy Rogenski), that Howard worked with for many years.  Delaware is where Howard met his current wife, Lisa.

Howard is survived by his wife, Lisa Roper, his brother, Tommy Roper (Katrina), all his children, Kristina (Danny), Heather (Advonte), Sheena (Justin), and Trevor (Laurie).

He is survived by all 13 of his grandchildren, Austin, Kieara, Elijah, Destiny, Hayli, Thor, Nolan, Braden, Luke, Julian, Michael, Teegan, and Phoenix.

He also has two great grandchildren. Keslee and Parker.  Along with his nieces and nephews.

Howard was known to most as a carefree soul, who enjoyed the simpler things in life. Cooking or grilling at home, making dough for just about any type of bread or pastry, and most of all his fishing. You could always expect to hear a story of how he caught this massive fish, how it snapped a line, or stole his favorite lure.

Howard loved to go on adventures, whether it was loading up the car to go on a quick road trip to Krispy Kreme (Clark’s Summit, PA), or WaWa in the wee hours of the morning, going hunting, camping/hiking to some pond to go fishing for the day or the weekend, or snowtubing down the road he lived on.  Howard was the true believer in being willing to try something new whether food, a place, or even a fair ride. Most importantly, Howard enjoyed being outside, enjoying the warmth of the sun, doing what he loved most, being with family and friends, along with making sure everyone else was having the time of their lives.

He did not wish for services, however a Celebration of Life will be held at a later, warmer date.
