Howard “George” Lent Jr., 81 of Wells Bridge died Friday Oct. 20, 2023, at his daughter Amy’s home.  He was born on April 4, 1942, in Oneonta to Howard G. & Bessie (Jackson) Lent.  He married Suzanne “Duffy” Lawrence on Feb. 25, 1961, in Paul Smith’s, NY.  

He retired from the US Geological Survey.  He was a member of the Sand Hill United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Duffy, 4 daughters & sons-in-law, Amy & Robert Vaughan, Unadilla, Kelly & Jim Paul, Allegany, NY, Kerry & Tim Bell, Fort Ann, NY, Colleen & Chuck Cappiello, Stanley, NY, 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 3 sisters & brother-in-law, Caroline & Andre Oiumet, Unadilla, Nancy Tompkins, S. New Berlin, Florence Higbie, Treadwell, and also several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Gross.

A Celebration of His Life and Open House will be held on Sat. April 27, 2024 from 12-4 p.m. at. 208 Main St. Unadilla.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Wells Bridge Fire Dept.  116 County Rd. 4 Wells Bridge, NY  13959 or Sand Hill United Methodist Church 127 Sand Hill Rd.
