Herbert Benjamin Roseboom, 84, of Otego, passed away peacefully on June 6th. Herb grew up in Westford, on a multi-generational family farm. He then went on to earn an AAS degree at SUNY Cobleskill in 1958. He worked in many industries primarily on the railroad and in the SUNY system. He enjoyed reading the Bible and any book related to American History. He also enjoyed watching the New York Yankees and “tinkering” around the barn and yard. Herb will be dearly missed and always remembered. Herb was predeceased by his father Horace Roseboom, mother Ethelyn Roseboom, Richard Roseboom (son) and Albert Hotaling (wife’s brother). He is survived by his wife Audrey (Hotaling) Roseboom and son John (Kathy) Roseboom. Herb is also survived by three sisters Winifred Buckingham, Joan Wilkinson, Emily Longtin and brother Larry Roseboom as well as Audrey’s siblings, Janet Bennett, John (Blanca) Hotaling and Margaret (Erwin) Smith. Herb also had 4 grandchildren that he was so proud of as well as many relatives and friends.
A celebration of his Life will be held in Herb’s honor as opposed to traditional funeral services. We request all of Herb’s loved ones join us in celebrating his life at the First Christian Church, 704 County Highway 6, Otego, NY on July 5th at 4:00PM.
