Georgia M. Hughes, 83, a longtime Masonville resident, died Wed. Dec. 24, 2014 at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.  She was born on Feb. 22, 1931 to George & Enith (Quesnel) Villnave.  She married Floyd Hughes on April 9,1949 in Bainbridge who died on April 13, 2008.  She had been a Den Mother for Masonville Cub Scouts, a surrogate mother for many children, enjoyed gardening, attended Unadilla Central Schools,  Bainbridge Schools and Tupper Lake Schools and was a counselor and friend to many.  She was predeceased by her 2 sons, Randy Hughes & Gary Hughes.  She is survived by her son, Gerald Hughes & Joanne Beach, Masonville , 3 daughters, Shareen (James) Bonner, Sidney, Colleen Georghiou (Procopis), SC, Kathleen (Thomas) Olechowski, TX, 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and also many nieces and nephews.  She was also predeceased by a brother, Charles Villnave and sister, Mary Hoyt.

Memorial Services will be held at the Westcott-Madden Funeral Home 123 Main Street Unadilla on Tues. at  11 a.m.  Rev.
