Ethel May German, 84, of Unadilla, passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly, on May 21, 2026.
Born on May 8, 1942, Ethel was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and love for her family defined her life. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially solving puzzles and word searches, playing bingo, and spending evenings watching her favorite game shows.
Ethel will be remembered for her caring heart, quiet strength, and dedication to her family. She took great pride in being a loving mother and grandmother and cherished the time she spent with those closest to her.
She is survived by her son, James D. Brown; daughter-in-law, Summer Brown; grandchildren Ricky Brown, Skyler McKissick, Lacey McKissick, and James D. Brown Jr.; great-grandchildren Roman Brown, Dahlia Brown, and Sayge Brown; and her sister,
Rosemary Kendle.
She was predeceased by her brothers, Everette German, Louis German, and Leslie German; her sister, Eunice Shroh; and her fiancé, William Sternberg.
Ethel's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her
