Dorothy M. Finch, 84 of Sidney Center passed away on Mon. June 13, 2022 at home on the family farm surrounded by her family.  She was born on Sept. 15, 1937 to Kenneth & Anna (Patrick) Dunshee in Sidney.  She married Kenneth M. Finch on Nov. 20, 1954 in Sidney Center, who predeceased her on April 16, 2022.  She was a hardworking farmer’s wife, wonderful mom to 6 children and loved her grandchildren.  Family was most important to her.  She was definitely the Life of the Party, teaching everyone how to dance and enjoy music.  She was an avid card player, board game enthusiast.

She is survived by her 6 children and their families, Robin & Glen Galley, Sidney Center, Phyllis & Kenny Crandall, Mt. Upton, Patricia Finch & Tom Tubby, Kingston, Kenny & Donna Finch, Sidney Center, Roland “Fred” & Melanie Finch, Sidney Center, Donna Velano & Zachary Cutting, Saugerties, her grandchildren, Jerry (Jessica) Galley, Casey Galley, Brandy  Chartier, Cory (Kim Walley) Crandall, Dylan (Samantha) Johnson, Jenn (Toby) Umbra, Michael (Spring) Finch, William Finch, Jeremy Hren, Jordan (Cassie) Finch, Dakota (Courtney) Finch, TaShena  (D.J.Deangelis) Velano, Corbyn Velano, 31 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild on the way, sisters-in-law & brothers-in-law, Charlene Rutenber & Ken, TX, Donald “Pete” & Sue Finch, Unadilla, Warren “Duke” & Sonnie Finch, FL, Carole Finch, Sidney Center and also several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Wesley Velano, 2 brothers-in-law & sister-in-law, Ernie & Judy Finch & Gordon “Butch” Finch and a niece, Dawn Wright.

A Celebration of Dorothy & Ken’s Lives will be held on Sat. Aug. 13, 2022 at 1 p.m. at 146 Dunshee Rd.
