Donald Eston Clark born April 1, 1926 passed away peacefully on August 3, 2024 at the Pruitt Nursing Home, Conway SC. He is predeceased by his parents: Florence Beatrice Manning Clark and Clarence Eston Clark, and his 3 siblings Grace Lindsley, Jack Clark, and Jane Harris. He is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years Mary Clark, children Douglas Clark of Norwich, NY and Deborah Kiesel of Conway, SC, grandchildren Joseph and Matthew Kiesel, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Donald Clark served in and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army during WWII stationed in the Philippines and the Korean War stationed in Japan. Donald had enrolled in the Army ROTC and returned from WWII to finish his high school diploma at Union-Endicott High School, NY in 1947. In 1951, he graduated from Norwich University, VT in electrical engineering. He used this training to become employed at Scintilla/Bendix Corporation in Sidney, NY. and was employed until he retired in 1984 . He married Mary Roberta Ellerton on July 18, 1953. They resided in Nineveh, NY until they retired to Dunedin, Fl., later relocating in 2023 to Conway, SC.
Donald was a quiet man with a great love for his family and education, wood working, reading, vegetable gardening, electronics, and computer technology. He was computer savvy well in to his 90’s, and built both the Nineveh home addition and a musical organ which he learned to play. A memorial service will be held at a date yet to be determined at the Westcott-Madden Funeral Home in Unadilla, NY.
