David A. Ritchey

UNADILLA-David Arthur Ritchey, 64 of Unadilla died on Monday, August 2, 2021 at his home.  He was born on December 10, 1956 the son of Lloyd and Ruth (Jones) Ritchey.  David graduated from Unatego Jr. Sr. High School in 1976.  He worked on the family farm on Ideuma Road until the milking herd was sold in 1999.  He enjoyed raising Rhode Island Red Chickens buying baby chicks each year. Many neighbors stopped at his home to buy farm fresh eggs.  David also worked on Ideuma Creek Alpaca Farm for 10 years.   He was the proud owner of a Ford 9N Farm Tractor.  He married Marilyn Beggs on May 9, 1981 and she passed away May 8, 2007.  He was also predeceased by his parents and recently a brother Mark.

He is survived by brothers James Ritchey of Unadilla and Gary Ritchey of Oneonta. Uncle Norman and Aunt Anna Ritchey of Unadilla, Uncle Henry Palmer of Sidney, Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mike and Mary Beggs of Unadilla and several cousins.

Graveside services will be held at the Elk Creek Cemetery, Schenevus, NY on Thurs.
