Unadilla:  Louella Mary Washburn, 97, known to family as “Nanny” passed away peacefully at A.O. Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta on Fri. Feb. 1, 2019 after a short illness.  She was the last survivor of the 1920 generation of Washburn Family.  She was born Nov. 4 in the Town of Bethel, NY on the family farm and was the daughter of the late Archie & Mary (Buchanan) Washburn.  She was predeceased by her brothers, Earl Washburn, Robert Glover, Wilford, Roland J., twin brother, Charles A. and Harold Washburn, all of Unadilla.  She is survived by her sister-in-law, Philomena Mongello Washburn, Oneonta, nephews, Gary Washburn, Oneonta, Chuck (Pat) Washburn, Oneonta, Roland (Janet) Washburn, Otego, Jim Washburn & Family, Bainbridge, Bud Washburn, David Washburn, of Unadilla, niece, Phyllis Dolly Washburn Arnold, Bainbridge, several great nieces and great nephews and her special cat, “Susie.”  She was a 1940 graduate of Unadilla Schools, lived on the farm on Washburn Road with her brother, Roland for over 82 years. 

Funeral Services will be held at the Westcott-Madden Funeral Home 123 Main Street Unadilla on Fri. at 11 a.m.  Rev. Benjamin Shaw will officiate.  Burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla in the spring.  The family will receive friends at the Westcott-Madden Funeral Home on Fri. from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to service.  Memorial contributions may be made to any animal shelter of your choice.  Online condolences may be made at:    www.wmaddenfh.com.
