James W. Crawford, 79 passed away at his home on Tues. July 31, 2018 following a courageous battle with cancer.  His wife was at his side.  He was the son of, Julia Kovacs Crawford Clowens and Edward L. Crawford.  Born in Brier Hill, Pa in 1939, he moved with his mother to Bridgeport, Conn., as a young child.  He served in the US Coast Guard for 2 years.  He then married Jane Ann Lloyd Kornbrust in Dec. of 1992.  Jim enjoyed fishing and hunting.  In later years, he loved stopping at Garage Sales and going to various casinos and playing cards with his friends.  He retired as a Corrections Officer from Putnam County Dept. of Corrections in Carmel, NY.  He is survived by his wife, Jane Ann Crawford, his daughter, Dawn (Raymond) Leslie, Hughsonville, NY and their 2 daughters, Amanda & Amber Leslie of the home address, a stepdaughter, Evelyn (Christopher) Cecil, Yorktown Heights, NY and their 2 daughters, Elise & Morgan Cecil of the home address, a step son, Peter Kornbrust and his partner, Jay Soodek, Redding, Conn. and their son, Brendan Gustav and sister, Jeanne Rizzoli.  He was predeceased by his parents, a brother, Edward L. Crawford II, his previous wife, Alberta Metta Crawford, a nephew Edward L. Crawford III and brother-in-law, Donald R. Lloyd.
