James H. Scott, 58 joined his Heavenly Father on Fri. Jan. 26, 2018 while staying at the home of his sister in Unadilla, NY.  Jim attended the Unatego Central School System where he participated on Football, basketball, baseball and cross country teams.  He was also active in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  Following high school, Jim served as a Seaman Gunner’s Mate in the US Navy serving on the USS Conolly DD-79 of Norfolk, VA.  He then attended Herkimer Community College where he played soccer, basketball and baseball.  Jim received the Athlete of the Year Award, his senior year there.  Jim’s love of the game led him to positions at several Rochester golf courses.  He played and won many tournaments including his most recent, being his club championship in 2016.  Jim worked as regional sales manager for Hoshizaki America and former territory manager at Scotsman Industries.  He is survived by his beloved children, Ashley Scott & fiancé Gill Bernard, Phoenix, AZ, James D. Scott & Alyssa Riley, Rochester, NY, sisters, Martha (Ralph) Vanderlip of Unadilla, Theresa (Howard) Finch of Sidney, Barbara Cattadoris of Otego, also by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, aunts and cousins.  He is also survived by special cousins, Donalda & Keith Vanderlip of Rochester, NY.  Jim will be dearly missed by his family and all his friends that meant so much to him.  He was predeceased by his parents, James & Ruth Scott of Unadilla and nephew Tyler Cattadoris of Otego. 

Funeral Services will be held at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church 240 Main Street Unadilla on Sat. Feb. 3, 2018 at 11 a.m.  Burial will be in Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Unadilla in the spring.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Unadilla Emergency Squad 77 Clifton St. Unadilla, NY 13849.  On-line condolences may be made at:   www.wmaddenfh.com.  Arrangements by the Westcott-Madden Funeral Home 123 Main Street Unadilla.
