Doris Beckley passed away peacefully at home on Tues. Aug. 14, 2018. She was born in 1925 in Walton, N.Y. to Burton and Shirley Robinson. She attended Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Brooklyn as a part of the World War II Cadet Nursing program. She was married in 1947 to Clyde Beckley and together they operated Cly-Dor dairy farm in Otego for more than forty years.

In her later years she loved her church, jigsaw puzzles, watching birds at her feeder, Wheel of Fortune and the Mets (even if they were losing). We will miss the warm letters and notes she wrote to so many of us and the phone calls we shared. She was a caring, warm person who was always ready to listen to others problems and her light will be sorely missed.

She was predeceased by her husband Clyde and son John. Left to miss her and cherish her memory are her daughters Lin (Claudio) Mastroianni, Sally (David) Smith and Shirley (John) Myers. In addition she also leaves grandchildren Heather Blakely, Alex Mastroianni and Brenda and Barb Beckley. She is also survived by great granddaughter Paige Blakely and nephews David, Carl and Phil Beckley and Dewey Robinson.

The family is forever grateful to her friends and neighbors, members of her church and especially her wonderful caregivers Julie, Joe, Stephanie, Jordan and Kat who made it possible for her to stay in the home she loved.

A celebration of her life will be held at a future date.
