Dolores Spinola Shorrock, a graduate of Percy I Bugbee and Oneonta NY High School, passed away this morning July 16, 2017, at the age of 82, in Oneonta, New York.  She was a wonderful talented person.  She could play any melody she heard as a concerto on the piano.  She  had the lead in all the high school musicals, as a coloratura soprano, as well as in her freshman year at college.  An excellent scholar, she received a five year scholarship to Oneonta State Teacher's College. She and her husband Don, could not have children, but the Lord provided them in the first and second grade students, she taught for many years, in the Derby/Shelton, Connecticut School District.  In later years, she became a recreational therapist in the nursing home close by.  She was cited as the best therapist in the state of Connecticut, for three years.  She could not be bested by anyone, who knitted or crocheted.  She also was known as an excellent baker, teaching the art of bread making, through community ed courses in that state.  In later years, she moved to Unadilla, NY to be near her sister Susan Youngs and her family.  After the death of Susan, her niece, Paula Youngs, and her family and brothers and sisters, became the family Dolores, never had.  She is survived by her older sister Josephine S. Bredesen, St Paul, MN,  and Mary Ann Spoor of Ormand Beach, Florida.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Susan Youngs, Brothers Carl and Jerome Jerry Spinola, her parents, Jerome Spinola and Frances  Spinola and many nieces and nephews.
