Frederick R. Van Dermark

Of Unadilla

Frederick R. Van Dermark, 98 of Unadilla went to be with His Lord in heaven on Mon. evening June 12, 2017 at NYS Veterans Home in Oxford.  He was born on June 9, 1919 in Meredith, NY to Cornelius & Katherine (Gesell) Van Dermark.  He married the former Pauline A. Decker on Oct. 18, 1941 in Treadwell, NY.  She predeceased him on July 10, 1998.  He was a retired Bridge Tender from Florida DOT, served as a Staff Sgt. in the US Air Force during WW II, stationed in China, Burma India and was a member of the Sidney VFW.   He was a truck driver for Carman Trucking, Unadilla Silo & UNALAM, former employee of Bendix Aviation, Scintilla Division.  He was a member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Unadilla and a Boy Scout Leader.

He is survived by 2 sons, Allen Van Dermark, Bennettsville, Rev. Roy & Debra Van Dermark, Unadilla, his grandchildren:  Jeffrey Van Dermark, Scott Van Dermark & wife, Elizabeth, Steven Van Dermark, Sherman Van Dermark & wife, Kelly, Sandy Ross & husband, Kingsley, Jennifer McKee & husband, Darin,  his great grandchildren:  Raymond Ross, Dawn Pickens, Christopher Ross, Tasha McKee, Chanze Van Dermark, Skyler McKee, Corben Van Dermark, Cordel Van Dermark, Kisten Van Dermark, Katherine Van Dermark & husband, Karin Abdel Aziz Osman, Josh Van Dermark, Samantha Van Dermark, Ashton Van Dermark, Jacob Van Dermark, his great great grandchildren, Eric Ross, Carter Ross, Aliya Pickens, Kenyon Pickens, Connor Ross, Addison Ross, Logan Van Dermark, Braylee Van Dermark, Nourah Faye Abdel Aziz Osman,  and also several nieces and nephews.

Memorial Services will be held on Sat. at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. Rev. Roy J. Van Dermark, his son will officiate.  Private burial will be in Meridale Cemetery with military honors.
